About Kat....
When I was growing up we moved, on average, every three years, but the place we always came back to was Oceanside, California, so I guess that's more-or-less where I grew up.
Most recently, we used to live in beautiful Cedar City, Utah, home to the Utah Shakespearean Festival and close to Brian Head Ski Resort, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Zion National Park. It's truly a spectacular area, and they have incredible sunsets and scenery.
We moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in September 2003 and we're really enjoying it. I've been designing quilts for about eight years, and I've been designing and writing patterns for about five years.
My quilts have won numerous awards at local fairs, including a first place ribbon at the Del Mar Fair in Del Mar, California, the third largest fair in the United States, and a Reserve ribbon at the Iron County fair.
I've had a lot of help, and I'd like to thank the following people: Greg LeFevre, my husband, for putting up with me while I'm glued to either the computer or the sewing machine and for occupying Gillian and Ryan, our kids, so that I can sew and compute; my mom, Kathie Phoenix, for helping test my patterns and supporting me; and Kathy De Koven and Gale Grover for testing my patterns and being honest about them, as well as being great friends. : )
One of my other passions is knitting. I have a blog at http://creativepopoffs.blogspot.com that's ended up being mostly about knitting, as well as two free knitting patterns which can be found on the Free Stuff page.
I also enjoy scrapbooking and fonts. I've designed some fonts that you may use, and they can be found here.
